From Kyiv to AUKUS: the Vital Partnership between the U.S. & UK

The Center for the Study of the Presidency & Congress is pleased to invite you to join us for a unique conversation with the United Kingdom’s new Defence Attaché, Rear Admiral Tim Woods.

Previously posted to Kyiv, Rear Admiral Woods brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise on the course of the war thus far, the West’s support to Kyiv, and how the conflict could evolve in the months ahead. Rear Admiral Woods also assumes his post at a critical time in the pivot and tilt for Washington and London, respectively, to the Indo-Pacific. The trilateral AUKUS agreement with Australia sees significant alignment between Canberra, London, and Washington on not just submarines, but also on technology transfer and joint research and development. The success and operationalization of this agreement is critical to allied interests in the region and regional security.

Taken together, the relationship between Washington and London as important as it perhaps has ever been in recent history to the stability and security of two critical geographical domains.

Please join CSPC on 20 September at 12:30 for this lunch conversation. Rear Admiral Woods will be in conversation with Joshua C. Huminski, the Director of the Mike Rogers Center for Intelligence & Global Affairs at CSPC.
