Tim McLaughlin

What are you doing now?
I'm currently a first-year MBA student at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and I'll be a Summer Associate at Guggenheim Securities this June.

How has the Fellowship impacted your career?
The fellowship has impacted me in so many ways. As a Presidential Management Fellow, I brought forward my CSPC experiences and academic perspectives on the government institutions with which I worked. As an Army Officer, I could reflect on my time as a fellow and the relationships I formed to seek deeper understanding as to why civilian and military leaders developed strategy and made specific decisions. Now, I'm afforded the opportunity to mentor a current fellow and continue to think about important topics surrounding politics and government.

What is your favorite memory of the Fellowship?
Undoubtedly, my favorite memory is renting a car and driving from West Point, NY to Washington, DC with my peer and friend in the program. We drummed up so much excitement, which was matched by the energy of the speakers and other fellows in the program.

If you could have any job in the world, what would it be?
This is a great question! On the serious side: U.S. Ambassador to China. On the less serious side: a coffee bean sourcer/expert.
