Mr. Ethan Brown
Ethan Brown is the Senior Fellow for National Security Studies and former inaugural Military Fellow of the CSPC. Prior to joining the Center, he accrued over a decade of combat experience while in the Special Operations Community. His current research is focused on Strategic Competition, the changing paradigms of warfare, and new domains of conflict. He also contributes to the National Security Space Program, Geotech, and other policy research initiatives for both the CSPC and the Mike Rogers Center for Intelligence & Global Affairs.
Ethan is a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served as a Special Warfare TACP (Tactical Air Control Party) from 2009-2020. He has five combat deployments to multiple theaters, and one Advisor deployment to Afghanistan where he managed a state-level program for the Afghan Air Force. He has supported the full spectrum of U.S. Army Combat units, primarily serving with the prestigious 75th Ranger Regiment. He has received multiple Combat Action awards, Air Force and Army Commendations, and is a Bronze Star recipient.
Mr. Brown is the author of the “Visual Friendlies, Tally Target” anthology [Vol. I “Invasions”, Vol. II, “Surges”, and Vol. III, “Terminus”] (Casemate Publishers, 2024), a contemporary history of the Global War on Terror, focusing on the role of Air Power and Forward Air Controllers in America’s longest war. His other work has been featured in the Diplomatic Courier, Warontherocks, Task & Purpose, the Modern War Institute (West Point), The Hill, Nineteen45, NextGenWarBlog, and other publications.
Originally from Wyoming, Ethan received his Bachelor of Arts (Cum Laude) in International Relations from American Military University, a Master of Project Management from Georgetown University (Project Management) and is currently pursuing a Master of Global Security Studies at Johns Hopkins University.
