Energy Technology, Competition, and Security

Energy Technology, Competition, and Security

Energy’s Digital Future is not just another book telling us that electric vehicles can save us from climate change, or how green jobs will build our economies. Instead, the book explores the digital revolution that is taking place in energy production, distribution, and storage, and how these seismic changes produce opportunities and challenges that weigh on America’s competitiveness, national security - and even individual liberties and democratic institutions.

In this online forum, we will ask Amy Myers Jaffe which technology vectors are transforming energy, what these trends mean for sustainability, the economy, and geopolitics, and what recommendations she has for policymakers at all levels of government in terms of deployment and regulation of emerging energy technologies. Participants are welcome to join the Q&A following the discussion.

Moderating this discussion will be Robert W. Gerber, CSPC Senior Fellow. Robert also works as a consultant for renewable energy and technology startups. He is a retired U.S. Department of State Foreign Service Officer. There will be a foreword by CSPC CEO Glenn Nye.
