Robert L. Zackery III is President of Primer Development Group, a consulting firm dedicated to optimizing organizational potential through transformative leadership, development, mental and organizational agility, and individual empowerment. He is also a Senior Subject Matter Expert for SPATHE Systems, a leading defense service provider. Zackery retired from an impressive 26-year career as a distinguished combat veteran in Special Operations, Zackery brings a wealth of expertise and knowledge.
During his military career as a U.S. Air Force Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) specialist, Zackery served in elite units such as the esteemed 75th Ranger Regiment and multiple U.S. Army Special Forces detachments. He has demonstrated his leadership prowess through combat deployments in significant operations, including the invasions of Afghanistan in 2001 and Iraq in 2003. Additionally, he has undertaken numerous direct action combat deployments in austere conditions and sensitive missions alongside special operations forces worldwide, including protecting the Vice President of the United States in Iraq.
In addition to his leadership acumen, Zackery has traveled extensively internationally across 52 countries. His work fostering partnerships and enhancing operational capacities has spanned 22 nations, providing him with a profound understanding of diverse cultures and approaches. Complementing his practical expertise, Zackery holds an undergraduate degree in International Relations/Conflict Resolution and graduate credentials in Strategic Leadership. Furthermore, he earned certificates from prestigious institutions such as Harvard, MIT, the University of North Carolina, and the University of South Florida, solidifying his well-rounded leader and consultant position.
Zackery was designated Command Chief, placing him among the top 5 percent of the 1 percent of the Air Force's enlisted force. In his most recent role as the U.S. Special Operations Command's (USSOCOM), Senior Enlisted Leader for the Operational Health of Special Operations Forces, he advised the United States Special Operations Command’s (USSOCOM) Commanders on critical initiatives, congressional engagements, and operations management. His focus on driving institutional change to increase lethality within the 74,000+ organization involved collecting functional data and providing operational recommendations directed by the President of the United States, with oversight from the Secretary of Defense and Congress.
